Allama Iqbal Open University is the public research University, which was established in 1974. This is the first university in Asia, which was established for the distant learning programs and it is located in Islamabad. AIOU is affiliated with Higher Education Commission and it has most number of students, who are getting education at different levels in different faculties and departments.

AIOU has the unique method of imparting of education to the students and the students can get education at every level sitting in their own homes.
